What is Arthritis? - Arthritis Causes and Symptoms.Arthritis is a disease of the joints and causes inflammation, and breakdown of the cartilage that normally projects the joint bones by providing a cushion between the bones, in order to keep them from rubbing together. The protective fluids and cartilage erode over time, usually in the hip, knee, wrists, elbows and shoulders over time.
When these things that protect the joints and cushion them when walking, using the hands and other motions erodes it causes inflammation in the tissue, which then causes pain. Due to this pain there can also be a buildup of fluid in the joint. They all have pain and stiffness associated with them and affect the joints in one way or another.
