Adult Still’s Disease is one of the rare inflammatory conditions, characterized by regular spiking fever, swollen and painful joints and pink rashes appearing on the skin. As the disease progresses, it can often lead to many other chronic diseases, such as arthritis with incapacitating complications.
It is indeed a very rare disease affecting 1 out of every 100,000 people. Also, it is more common in women than in men.
Still’s disease not only happens to adults, but it can happen to a child as well. When the disease is present in children, it is known as systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
As it is not a common disease, people affected with Adult Still’s Disease have never received proper care for the condition. However, there are ways to relieve the symptoms using the common medicines prescribed for easing arthritis. Also, as a patient of Adult Still’s Disease is likely to have very high fever, he/she needs to be given adequate medications to relieve all the symptoms.
