Amyloidosis : The Treatment

 

The disease amyloidosis that affects people with rheumatoid arthritis is imperative that it is diagnosed and treated. There will be blood and urine testing to diagnose this condition and in some cases where there is believed to be damage done to the organs tissue samples can be taken. Then once the condition is diagnosed medication will be prescribed to reduce the symptoms and to stop damage from being done to the organs and nervous system.
It is important while treating this condition to also have rheumatoid arthritis under control and this is usually done using anti- inflammatory medications. The medications prescribed for this condition are corticosteroids, like Dexamethasone, which have anti-inflammatory properties and are also able to help with the inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis.

There are also other types of medications and therapies used in treating amyloidosis so that it does not cause damage to the organs and to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with the disease.
