Avacular Necrosis is known as ischemic bone necrosis, or it can be referred to by the names aseptic necrosis or osteonecrosis, AVN or Avascular Necrosis. This is a kind of bone injury that also involves blood loss. Specifically, it is joint problem that become obvious when the body fails to circulate blood to the bones. This can be a permanently or temporary condition.
The lack of blood in the bones can cause the surrounding tissues to die, in so doing it can cause degrading of the bones. When this takes place the surrounding bones in the articular joints, will be affected, along with the joint shells, This can result in joint disintegration.
Avascular necrosis in most cases affects only certain join segments. The epiphysis or the long bone ends including the femur are usually the bones and joints affected with avascular necrosis infection. The femur is the name of the bone expanding from the knee joints up to the hips that can be affected. AVN also infects other bone segments including the ankles, knees, bones in the upper arms and can include the shoulders. Avascular necrosis is an arthritic condition that can affect singular bones or multiple bones. This condition can lead to permanent damage or disability. The amount and severity of the damage that can be done by this arthritic condition can largely depend on the joints affected and when treatment is begun to stop the progression of avascular necrosis.
People that are suffering from avascular necrosis, treatment is necessary and should be immediate. Appropriate treatment can stop the disease from progressing and help to prevent severe conditions and other complication as such osteoarthritis. |
