Blood test for arthritis

The laboratory test results are very helpful in diagnosis and are generally vague when they are considered alone. The entire history of the patient along with the laboratory test results produces an exact diagnosis. Hence blood tests are done to find whether the individual is suffering with arthritis or any other complications. The blood samples of the patients suffering from arthritis generally leave the symptoms, with which a physician can come to the conclusion about the type of arthritis they have. For instance, Rheumatoid factors are a variety of antibodies that are seen in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Nearly all the rheumatoid arthritis patients show symptoms of positive rheumatoid factor (RF), cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody and elevated measures of inflammation

Physicians generally rely on results such as General Blood test and specialized blood test. The general blood tests give the results about Complete Blood Count that includes White Cells, Red Cells, Hemoglobin / Hematocrit, Inflammation. Specialized blood test yields the results about Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), Rheumatoid Factor (RF), HLA B27 Typing, Antinuclear Antibody (ANA), C - reactive protein (CRP), Lupus Erythematosus (LE) Test, Anti-DNA and Anti-Sm, Anti-CCP. The new study has found that the level of cytokines in the blood increases before developing the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
