Cayenne pepper for arthritis

 

It is believed that the active ingredient present in cayenne pepper, capsaicin is a good pain reliever. It is seen that it is effective in pain relief. And that’s why arthritis pain killing medications and ointments have capsaicin as the active ingredient. Experts believe that capsaicin does following things:

  1. Capsaicin in cayenne pepper works towards blocking a special kind of protein which is termed as NGF. Normally NGF helps in transmission of pain signals to the brain. And with blockage of this hormone pain relief can take place.
  2. It also helps in relapsing secretions from hypothalamus which helps in subsiding pain.
  3. Thus, it effectively blocks the action of pain signal transmission to the brain.
In arthritis there is immense pain. But taking cayenne pepper regularly as per the prescribed dosage will help in easing pain to a greater extent. In the start when you start cayenne pepper pills, there will be increase in pain. But then after some days the pain will subside. Apart from arthritis pain cayenne pepper is beneficial in many other ways like cough and cold, cholesterol, blood clots, flu, sinus infections. However, before you start this therapy, make sure that you talk to your doctor first.
