Fruits and vegetables good for arthritis

In one of the studies which were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2005, it was revealed that antioxidants are present in bright yellow and orange colored fruits and vegetables. These antioxidants are known as carotenoids. It is believed that these fruits and vegetables prevent from arthritis and other inflammatory disorders. Health experts believe that oxidation that happens in the body lead to free radicals. And these free radicals damage the joints. With fruits and vegetables good amounts of vitamins and antioxidants are supplied to the body. And thus the prominence of free radicals gets reduced. And therefore researchers claim that people who consume different varieties of fruits and vegetables can prevent arthritis and if the arthritis patients follow fruit and vegetable diet then it can give relief in the health condition.
Health experts suggest that following fruits and vegetables help in treating arthritis:
- Oranges: It has beta-cryptoxanthin which can give prevention from rheumatoid arthritis.
- Berries: All the berries have high content of vitamin C and antioxidants which help in keeping away arthritis.
- Apples: Apples have good capacity to fight inflammation and inflammatory disease due to presence of some special antioxidants.
- Beans: There is special protein present in beans which help in preventing arthritis.
- Carrots: These have carotenoids and vitamins.
Apart from the above mentioned fruits and vegetables taking parsley, tomatoes, broccoli, red grapes also will be helpful in arthritis. |
