Pilates for arthritis

 

Pilates increases the strength, flexibility as well as the awareness of the patient suffering from arthritis. Pilates increase the sense of balance of the body. The Pilates exercises bring about a decrease in fatigue. It makes patient a common feeling of well being. One of the effective exercises of Pilates is the Wall Roll Down. For performing this exercise, you have to stand sticking the lower part of you back firmly against a wall. Your feet must be away from the wall. The knees are to be bent slightly. Then inhale once. While exhaling bent your chin towards the chest. Simultaneously, roll the spine off from the wall until your head and arm hang down over the hips. Repeat the procedure three times in order to have desired results. Another quite effective exercise is the Mermaid stretch. You require having a bench for this exercise. Sit on the front end of the bench. Your feet should be firm on the ground and the hips are to be wide apart. Inhale as you raise the right arm towards the sky. Exhale while bending towards the left side. In hale again being in the same position and exhale to return back to the normal position. Repeat the same procedure three times for each side.
