The statistics show every year there are between ten and twenty thousand people that can develop avacular necrosis or osteonecrosis. These facts are from the findings of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
This is a condition that can affect both males and females with most people being between the ages of 30 and 50 years old, but it can include people of other ages.
This condition develops having symptoms that might not be noticed in the early stages of avacular necrosis, which is the same as many of the arthritic conditions. The diagnosis might not be done until the person has symptoms like joint pain or painful joints when placing weight on the affected joint. This joint pain can also occur during sleep in some cases.
When this arthritic condition progresses there can be both moderate and severe pain, and will include throbbing pain in later stages. The progression of this arthritic condition will cause the joint surface to begin denigrating and this will increase the amount of pain felt. Severe pain can be experienced when there is movement of the joint and this especially in the hip can lead to severe osteoarthritis. This condition could result in limited or immobility with severe osteoarthritis. |
