Knowing the Different Types of Inflammatory Arthritis

Swollen joint areas and joint and muscle inflammation are common indications of the inflammatory arthritis condition. The most common types of arthritis that belongs to this category are as follow:
- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) -- it is one of the widespread types of arthritis that is categorized under the inflammatory form. It pertains to an autoimmune condition, which is capable of damaging the nearby joint tissues and other major organs of the body. A typical indication of the RA condition is muscle stiffness, which would lead to the progression of other associated symptoms including fatigue, immobilized joints, and fever with chills, intense pain and swelling.
- Psoriatic arthritis -- it pertains to the progression of an arthritic condition that is accompanied with psoriasis. This condition can also lead to the inflammation of other body organs including the kidneys, liver, eyes and lungs, which can also be painful.
- Septic arthritis -- it is another type of inflammatory arthritis that transpires from an infection that leads to the progression of other symptoms including too much pain and swollen and inflamed joints.
- Ankylosing spondylitis – it is an inflammatory type of arthritis that is elicited by the swelling and inflammation of larger joints including the spine. Anyone who suffers from such condition is bound to experience severe pain and joint immobility.
- Reactive arthritis -- it is characterized by an inflammation of both the tendons and joints. Common indications would include gastrointestinal tract infection, sore and red eyes and the appearance of rashes, particularly on the affected skin areas.
