Types of Inflammatory Arthritis Explained

There are several types of arthritis that are included in the class of inflammatory arthritis and each of these has their own special types of symptoms. This also means there are different types of treatments to ease the stiffness, swelling, pain and other symptoms.
Rheumatoid arthritis is one of these included in the class of inflammatory arthritis symptoms, and is an autoimmune disease. This type of arthritis affects the joints, but it can also affect the organs, including the kidneys. This arthritic disease causes swelling and stiffness, which limits mobility.
Septic arthritis is another form of the disease in this category, and is caused by an infection, which causes swelling of the joints. Redness and severe pain are also part of the symptoms, which in most cases lead to joint replacement.
Psoriatic arthritis is a combination of arthritis and psoriasis, and included in the class of inflammatory arthritis. The symptoms of this type of arthritis can cause severe pain and it can include organs in the body like the liver, lungs and kidneys. The eyes can also be affected by psoriatic arthritis.

Ankylosing spondylitis  is a member of the inflammatory arthritis family and not only causes swelling of the joints, it can affect the spine which in some cases can be devastating to the person by causing extreme limitations of the joints.
